Late last year on December 16, Andy Nisbet visited the Lower Corrie in Coire Garbhlach in Glen Feshie with Sandy Allan and made the first ascent of Spice Boys (III), the ridge left of Garlic Gully.
Andy returned with local guru John Lyall on January 10 to make the first winter ascent of the summer V Diff Gael Force Ridge (IV,5). “Gael Force Ridge was a fine sharp crest,” Andy explained. “Amazing it hasn’t fallen down since the summer ascent,” said John, who describes “hair trigger holds ” in the Cairngorms guide. “You did have to be careful,” Andy concluded, “and it WAS frozen!”
