Initially,\u00a0the Journal was published three times a year, in January, May and September. This was reduced in 1918 to two issues per year. From 1942 onwards, the Journal has been published annually.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Over the last four years <a href=\"https:\/\/thesmt.org.uk\">The Scottish Mountaineering Trust<\/a> have supported a project to scan back copies Scottish Mountaineering Club Journals and make them available to the public on line. They are available on the SMC website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smc.org.uk\/journal\/downloads\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Journal was first published in 1890 and has maintained a continuous record of mountain activities in Scotland since that date. It is the primary record for all mountaineering activities in Scotland and the\u00a0essential reference source for anybody interested in the Scottish mountains \u2013 from historians to climbers seeking to establish new routes.<\/p>\n<p>All the pdfs are searchable.
